Use Keyboard LED to Indicate Network Activity

I hope you have seen three LED lights in your keyboard, for indicating Num lock, Scroll lock and Caps lock. As there are also LED lights in your internet modem or in router as in my router and modem for indicating the network activity.

You can use those LED lights for indicating Network activity (upload/download traffic) . Using this trick, we can make the Num lock, Caps lock and Scroll lock LED for indication. These LED will start to blink whenever there is data transfer (send or receive packets on network) being processed over the Internet. You can also identify the unknown/illegal packet transfers of packets.

In this tutorial I have used Network Lights, you have to do the following steps;

1. Firstly you need to download Network Lights, and extract it.

2. Run the program by double clicking the NetworkLights.exe file. Now you can see the traffic light icon in system tray.

3. Click the Settings for customization, if it is necessary.

By default, if there is incoming packets then the scroll lock will blink and if there is an outgoing packets then the Num lock will blink. You can change the setting as you need.
